Sherlyn Kok joins Sompo Asia Pacific as VP, Head of Compliance, bringing expertise and leadership to enhance compliance strategies.
Sherlyn Kok has been appointed as the Vice President, Head of Compliance at Sompo Asia Pacific (APAC), bringing her expertise to the company in a role based in Singapore. Her appointment marks a significant step in enhancing Sompo’s compliance framework across the region.
In this pivotal role, Kok will be reporting directly to Todd Corey, the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Asia Pacific. She will spearhead both regional and local-market compliance efforts while supporting global compliance initiatives and activities. Her responsibilities include collaborating with local compliance, legal, internal audit, risk, and business teams to proactively identify and mitigate compliance and regulatory risks.
Ensuring the effectiveness of existing compliance controls, policies, and procedures within the region will be a key focus of Kok’s role. With an impressive career spanning over 14 years in various financial institutions, Kok brings a wealth of experience to Sompo. Prior to joining Sompo, she served as the Regional Operational Risk and Compliance Vice President at JP Morgan Chase in Singapore.
Her distinguished career includes roles at China Taiping Insurance, Allianz Asia Pacific, Great Eastern, and KPMG, where she honed her skills in compliance and risk management.
