Adding to the buzz, there’s speculation about a more budget-friendly variant of its clamshell design, tentatively named the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
Processor Choices for the New Devices
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is rumored to be powered by the Exynos 2400e processor, the same chip found in the Galaxy S24 FE. Meanwhile, recent whispers suggest that the premium models, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, might come equipped with the Exynos 2500 chipset. This indicates a potential shift towards using Exynos processors across these models.
According to insights from Korean news outlet SEDaily, Samsung is poised to commence mass production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE by May. Adding to this, a social media insider, PandaFlashPro, revealed on platform X that they have received two Galaxy Z Flip 7 units for network testing, identifying one as the FE model. Both were noted to feature Exynos processors, hinting that Samsung may be aligning its clamshell devices with Exynos technology. However, the exact chipset for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 remains unconfirmed.
Production Plans and Color Variations
Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Experience (MX) Division is set to kick off production at its facilities in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Vietnam, as reported by SEDaily. Initially, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to debut in four distinct colors with an anticipated initial sales target of 160,000 units. Meanwhile, production plans for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE are set at 240,000 and 170,000 units, respectively, underscoring Samsung’s ambitious outlook for its upcoming foldable offerings.
