Samsung’s Update Policy: Android 16 and Beyond
Despite Samsung’s commendable track record in firmware support, even the most popular models eventually cease to receive updates. As the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 updates continue to roll out, a list of Galaxy phones that will not be updated further has emerged. Over ten models will miss out on the newest advancements.

Samsung phones excluded from Android 16 (One UI 8.0) have now been revealed. For those unaware, Samsung has resumed the release of One UI 8.0 after addressing several issues. This update introduces a range of novel features and enhancements, refining the Galaxy user experience. Regrettably, not all Galaxy phone owners will enjoy these benefits.
For the devices listed below, Android 15 will be the final major system upgrade. These Samsung devices will not receive any more major Android updates. However, it is important to note that support is not entirely discontinued. These devices will still receive updates to address minor improvements or critical security vulnerabilities. Therefore, users need not worry excessively.
