Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Release Date Announced with New Trailer
The much-anticipated Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound has finally received an official release date, unveiled with an exciting new trailer during the recent State of Play broadcast. Fans can mark their calendars for July 31, 2025, when the game will be available across multiple platforms, including PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
Before the official launch, players can get a taste of the action, as a playable demo will be released during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. This gives gamers a chance to experience the thrilling gameplay ahead of time.
About the Game
Developed by The Game Kitchen, renowned for their work on the Blasphemous series, in collaboration with Dotemu, Koei Tecmo, and Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound was first announced at The Game Awards in 2024. The game promises to deliver captivating 2D gameplay where players step into the shoes of Ryu Hayabusa, who embarks on a journey to America to honor his father’s dying wish. However, upon his arrival, he discovers his village besieged by a sinister army.
Players will primarily control Kenji Mozu, a dedicated ninja from the village, as they navigate through this perilous adventure. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to play as a secondary character, Kumori, introduced in April. Kumori, a member of the Black Spider Clan—known adversaries from Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword—offers a unique gameplay experience with his traditional ninjutsu techniques.
The game intricately blends nostalgia with modern technology, offering an immersive experience in a reimagined world that pays homage to the classic universe of the series. With mechanics that are easy to learn yet challenging to master, players can expect detailed enemy modeling and a visually stunning adventure.
