LG Achieves Record First Quarter Revenue and Profits

LG has reported remarkable financial performance for the first quarter of 2025, achieving consolidated revenue of KRW 22.74 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 1.26 trillion. This marks the company’s highest first-quarter revenue in its history, alongside achieving over KRW 1 trillion in operating profit for the sixth consecutive year. The robust results were primarily driven by qualitative growth in strategic business domains, especially in B2B operations, non-hardware sectors such as subscription services and the webOS platform, as well as in direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales.

Highlights of Key Business Areas

The Vehicle Solutions and Eco Solutions sectors, pivotal to LG’s B2B strategies and future expansion, delivered unprecedented quarterly revenue and operating profits. The combined operating profit of these divisions surged by 37.2 percent year-on-year, with revenue increasing by 12.3 percent.

LG’s flagship division, the Appliances Solution Company, secured its highest-ever quarterly revenue, maintaining its global market dominance. This division is swiftly evolving with innovative models such as subscription services and D2C sales. The media and entertainment segment also showed strong performance, propelled by sustained growth in LG’s webOS-based advertising and content platform.

Performance of Individual LG Divisions

LG Appliances Solution Company reported revenue of KRW 6.70 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 644.6 billion for the first quarter. Compared to the previous year, revenue and operating profit increased by 9.3 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively. The company continues to lead the market while accelerating growth in subscription and D2C sales.

Looking forward to the second quarter, the Company anticipates growing uncertainties due to shifting global trade policies and increased market competition. To navigate these challenges, the Appliances Solution Company plans to intensify its focus on subscription and online business while expanding its product range in new and volume-zoned categories. Additional priorities include enhancing B2B opportunities, such as built-in appliances, and external sales of key components like motors and compressors. Profitability efforts will concentrate on boosting cost competitiveness through operational efficiency optimization.

LG Media Entertainment Solutions Company achieved a revenue of KRW 4.95 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 4.9 billion in the first quarter. Although TV demand remained subdued, the expansion of webOS-based advertising and content services contributed positively to performance. Revenue remained stable year-over-year, though profitability was affected by higher costs for LCD panels and increased marketing expenditures.

In the second quarter, the Company aims to create synergies across its display-focused businesses, including TVs, commercial displays, and IT products like notebooks and monitors. As the market gradually recovers, the Company will prioritize profitability, especially through premium offerings. The expanding webOS-based platform will seek to broaden its geographic and product reach, while fostering strategic partnerships with content providers to sustain its growth trajectory.

LG Vehicle Solution Company recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue and operating profit, with KRW 2.84 trillion in revenue and KRW 125.1 billion in operating profit. Growth continues to be bolstered by a strong order backlog, amounting to KRW 100 trillion. Notably, profitability improved in the in-car infotainment business, where the share of premium products has steadily increased.

In the second quarter, the Company aims to sustain revenue growth and consolidate a stable profit structure by increasing sales of high-value products, optimizing operations in the electric vehicle components business, and improving resource efficiency.

LG Eco Solutions Company also posted record quarterly revenue and operating profit. First quarter revenue reached KRW 3.05 trillion and operating profit KRW 406.7 billion, achieving a strong operating margin of 13.3 percent. Year-on-year, revenue increased by 18.0 percent and operating profit by 21.2 percent.

LG has operated its HVAC business as a standalone division since early 2025 and has achieved visible performance gains through efficient resource allocation and a B2B-focused organizational structure. Alongside the Vehicle Solution Company, the Eco Solution Company serves as a key driver of LG’s B2B growth. In the second quarter, the company will aim to boost sales of new residential HVAC products and secure commercial air conditioning contracts in emerging markets. It also plans to target large-scale industrial and power generation projects, including artificial intelligence data centers, by leveraging its ultra-large chiller solutions.
