LG Electronics has launched an innovative 5K2K monitor specifically designed for professionals engaged in data-intensive sectors such as Information Technology and Finance. The newly released model, named LG UltraFine 40WT95UF, is celebrated as the world’s first 5K monitor to incorporate support for Thunderbolt 5.
The LG UltraFine 40WT95UF is equipped with a 40-inch curved IPS Black panel featuring a 2500R curvature and a resolution of 5120×2160. This state-of-the-art display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, along with VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. The monitor is professionally calibrated to ensure precise color accuracy, eliminating the need for users to make manual adjustments.
Additionally, the monitor is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium, ensuring enhanced clarity, contrast, and smooth visual experiences. The inclusion of Thunderbolt 5 connectivity allows for seamless connections to multiple 4K displays, rapid transfer of large files, and device charging capabilities of up to 96W with a single cable.
The monitor is outfitted with two Thunderbolt 5 ports, one USB-C upstream port, four USB-C downstream ports, two USB-A ports, dual HDMI inputs, DisplayPort 2.1, and RJ45 Ethernet ports. It also supports Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes, offering the multitasking advantages of a dual-monitor setup without occupying excessive desk space.
According to LG, “Financial analysts can simultaneously view comprehensive datasets, application dashboards, and market charts, while IT professionals in software development, systems integration, or media services can utilize the expansive screen real estate and advanced features to review extensive lines of code, manage complex project timelines, and conduct in-depth content analysis.”
By positioning the UltraFine 40WT95UF as a premium solution for enterprise and B2B markets, LG aims to cater to the increasing demand for high-performance monitors that minimize cable clutter. However, LG has not yet revealed the pricing details for this advanced monitor.
