IO Interactive, renowned for their Hitman series, first announced their venture into the James Bond universe back in 2020. After years of anticipation and development, the studio is set to unveil their latest creation, 007 First Light. This much-awaited reveal will be streamed live on YouTube, commencing on June 7th at 04:00 PM PT.
The streaming event promises to be a significant occasion for IO Interactive, as it will not only showcase the new James Bond game but also unveil fresh content for Hitman World of Assassination. Additionally, fans can look forward to seeing MindsEye, a project developed by Build a Rocket Boy and published by IO Interactive, among other exciting announcements.
In a statement, IO Interactive’s CEO, Hakan Abrak, shed some light on the project’s direction. He remarked, “What’s thrilling about 007 is that we are crafting an original storyline. It’s not a mere adaptation of a film; rather, it’s a brand-new beginning that we hope will evolve into a compelling trilogy in the future.“
The official game website further describes the experience: “Featuring a completely original Bond narrative, players will step into the shoes of the world’s most beloved Secret Agent as they strive to achieve 00 status.” The description teases a captivating journey without giving away too many details.
