Introducing Google Meet’s Live Translation
Unveiled at the Google I/O 2025 conference, this innovative feature provides real-time translation with a unique twist—it mimics the user’s voice and intonation. Leveraging the capabilities of Gemini, the feature not only translates spoken words but also replicates them in the target language, complete with matching intonations. This results in a seamless, dubbing-like experience.
Currently, the live translation service supports translations between English and Spanish. However, Google has announced plans to expand its linguistic reach, adding German, Italian, and Portuguese this summer.
It’s worth noting that this advanced AI translation feature will be available exclusively to subscribers of Google AI Pro and the newly unveiled Google AI Ultra.
