In a recent announcement, Microsoft has confirmed that prices for Xbox accessories and games will rise globally. This decision mirrors broader economic challenges, including fluctuating exchange rates and rising inflation impacting industries worldwide.
Both Microsoft and Sony have responded to these economic pressures, previously raising prices for their Xbox and PlayStation consoles. For instance, the PlayStation 5 experienced a price adjustment in select regions last month. Now, Microsoft is adjusting the pricing of Xbox hardware, accessories, and games on a worldwide scale.
With this update, the 512 GB Xbox Series will now retail at €349.99, up from €299.99. Similarly, the 1 TB Xbox Series price will be €399.99, previously set at €349.99. The Xbox Series X model without a disk drive will see a price of €549.99, increased from €499.99, while the version with a disk drive will now be €599.99, up from €549.99. Additionally, the 2 TB Galaxy Black version will cost €699.99, instead of the former €649.99.
On the accessory front, the limited edition controller price will rise to €89.99 from €79.99. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) will be priced at €149.99, up from €139.99, and the full version of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 will now cost €199.99, previously €179.99.
Furthermore, a similar price increase strategy is anticipated for first-party Xbox games. Initially, not all titles will see immediate changes, but they will incrementally reach a price point of €79.99. This strategy is expected to extend to third-party games in the near future.
