Kellen Booher has joined the executive team of CopperPoint Insurance Company as the new President & Chief Operating Officer, starting March 31. Booher will be stepping into a key leadership role, reporting directly to CEO Marc Schmittlein, as part of a strategic leadership succession plan.
As part of this transition, Booher is positioned to succeed Schmittlein as CEO upon his retirement scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, at which point Schmittlein will transition to the role of Executive Chair of the CopperPoint Board of Directors, a role he has been fulfilling since 2024. The duo will collaborate closely over the next year to ensure a seamless transition.
In his new capacity, Booher will lead CopperPoint’s continuous evolution and expansion, focusing on achieving operational excellence and driving efficiency. He will oversee the execution of strategic business initiatives, aiming to provide a superior CopperPoint experience for customers and distribution partners alike. Booher will manage key business functions to ensure CopperPoint retains its competitive edge, emphasizing underwriting and claims excellence, fostering innovation, leveraging data-driven decision-making, and nurturing talent development.

Booher is transitioning to CopperPoint from Chubb, where he served as Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer & Small Commercial for major international markets. His career also includes various leadership roles in product, distribution, and analytics at The Travelers Companies over a decade-long tenure.
