The Bayraktar Kızılelma, a noteworthy unmanned combat aerial vehicle, has reached a significant milestone with the commencement of flight tests for its PT-4 version. The PT-4, marking the fourth prototype in the series, recently undertook its inaugural flight and has successfully completed the EU Launch Aerodynamic System Identification Test.
The PT-4 is a continuation of the production variant, serving as a prototype version critical for validating systems and performance just before mass production begins. Baykar, the manufacturer, has released footage showcasing the PT-4’s flight test, which was captured in the sky by the Bayraktar Akıncı.
During the AB Take-off Aerodynamic System Identification Test, the PT-4 utilized an afterburner to enhance thrust during take-off. This test focused on modeling aerodynamic forces and moments while acquiring data on air forces such as lift, drag, and moment impacting the aircraft’s surface. These forces’ time-dependent behavior was critically analyzed.
