Discover Allianz Asia Pacific’s expanded MoveNow Mentoring Program for 2025, empowering future leaders with innovative opportunities.
Allianz Asia Pacific, in collaboration with the Halogen Foundation and the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC), has launched the second year of its successful MoveNow Mentoring Program. In 2025, the program aims to double the number of mentees, marking a significant expansion from its inaugural year.
The initiative is designed to provide young people and para-athletes with valuable mentoring, focusing on easing their transition from education to employment. This is achieved through comprehensive skills training, insightful industry exposure, and personalized guidance from seasoned mentors.
Reflecting on the program’s positive reception and outcomes since its 2024 debut, Allianz reports that participants have achieved greater clarity in career interests, enhanced understanding of personal values, and improved job market readiness.
Anusha Thavarajah, Regional CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific, expressed enthusiasm about the program’s growth and its alignment with Allianz’s commitment to youth empowerment through strategic collaborations. “In just one year, this program has significantly helped young individuals and para-athletes gain clarity, bolster confidence, and adopt fresh perspectives,” she noted. “We are thrilled to continue building on this momentum and are grateful to our partners for joining us in this journey of opening doors for future generations.”
The expansion of the initiative is strongly supported by Halogen Foundation and SDSC. Ivy Tse, CEO of Halogen Foundation, emphasized the partnership’s impactful growth, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with Allianz Asia in scaling this program, offering an enriching experience to twice as many participants this year. Through our partnership with Allianz and SDSC, we are dedicated to providing substantial value to young mentees transitioning from school to work.”
Tse also acknowledged the indispensable role of mentors in the program’s success, adding, “We deeply appreciate the mentors who have stepped up to guide our mentees in their personal and professional development journey.”
Kelly Fan, Executive Director of SDSC, highlighted how the program empowers para-athletes to explore opportunities outside the realm of sports. “The Allianz MoveNow program has been transformative for young para-athletes. We are excited to embark on this second phase with Halogen. Beyond sporting achievements, we hope this experience equips para-athletes with career insights and a head start in their future endeavors,” she remarked.
In 2024, the MoveNow initiative garnered recognition when it was named a finalist for the Corporate Excellence Award at the National Mentoring Summit, organized by Mentoring.SG and Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. This recognition affirmed the program’s positive direction.
The 2025 program launch event, held at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, featured inspiring remarks from Singapore Paralympian Sophie Soon, who shared her journey of overcoming challenges and establishing a career. The event included structured mentoring sessions and networking activities designed to foster lasting mentor-mentee relationships.
