In November, Google introduced a standalone Gemini app specifically for iOS users, which replaced the previously integrated Search experience. Initially, the app was optimized for iPhone, leading to a less than ideal performance on iPad devices, as it only functioned in compatibility mode.

Features of the Gemini App on iPad

The updated Gemini app allows iPad users to multitask more efficiently by using split view to operate Gemini alongside other applications. Additionally, the app can now be added directly to the home screen as a widget, offers connectivity with Google Photos, and provides a suite of new features:

• Deep Research: Quickly generate reports and gather information.
• Audio Overview: Simplify the processing and comprehension of audio files.
• Canvas: Utilize AI for creating and editing documents and code.
• Image and Video Creation: Produce a variety of images and videos directly on the iPad.

While the basic version of Gemini is available free of charge, users looking for enhanced capabilities can subscribe to Gemini Advanced. This premium version, offering more robust features, is currently available for a subscription fee of $720 per month.
