The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K digital film camera is set to revolutionize the world of cinematography, offering filmmakers, studios, and content creators unparalleled 16-stop HDR image quality. This cutting-edge camera features a 35mm full-frame sensor housed in a highly customizable body, designed to meet the demands of modern filmmaking.

Specifications of the Blackmagic PYXIS 12K Full-Frame Digital Movie Camera

At the heart of the PYXIS 12K is a 35mm sensor with a pixel pitch of 2.9 microns, delivering an impressive 800 native ISO and a dynamic range of 16 stops. Filmmakers can capture footage in various resolutions including 4K, 8K, 9K, and an astounding 12K in different aspect ratios. When set to its optimal configuration, the camera captures stunning 2.4:1 12K (12,288 x 5,112) video at 60 frames per second.

HDR recordings are stored on CFexpress cards or external drives using the high-efficiency 12-bit Blackmagic RAW codec, along with 8-bit H.264 proxies for convenience. The camera is equipped for live streaming on platforms like Facebook, X, and YouTube via a connected 4G/5G phone and Ethernet connection, supporting RTMP and SRT protocols.
