Xiaomi is on the brink of launching its cutting-edge portable printer globally, designed to print photos directly from smartphones. Dubbed the “Portable Photo Printer 1S”, this device boasts a unique capability of printing without ink by utilizing special ZINK paper. Through heat-activated crystals, users can produce colorful prints.
Adding to its charm, the prints come with adhesive backs, perfect for sticking on a variety of surfaces, from phone cases to diaries. A standout feature of this printer is its augmented reality integration. With the Mi Home app, users can enhance printed photos by embedding short videos or audio clips. By scanning with the app, these printed frames come to life, though this AR feature is limited to 100 pieces of content per user.
The device is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, enabling simultaneous connections with up to three devices at once, enhancing its portability since it doesn’t rely on Wi-Fi. Compatible with Android 8.0 or iOS 12 and later versions, it supports JPEG, PNG, and HEIF formats. Compactly designed, measuring just 82 x 124 x 22 mm, it easily fits into a bag, making it perfect for on-the-go use.
Economically, printing costs are approximately 0.27 dollars per page. While the international price remains undisclosed, in China, it retails for roughly 55 dollars. Xiaomi aims to offer an elegant, enjoyable, and tech-savvy option for users eager to cherish their moments in tangible form.
