The anticipation for Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 16, is nearing its end. As the launch date approaches, details about the Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Ultra have started to emerge, promising impressive features and advancements.
Recent leaks from the Asian market suggest that the Xiaomi 16 will boast an outstanding 7,000 mAh battery, setting a new benchmark in its category. Previously rumored to have capacities around 6,800 mAh or slightly above 6,500 mAh, this update represents a significant enhancement over the 5,240 mAh battery found in last year’s Xiaomi 15 model.
Beyond its groundbreaking battery, the Xiaomi 16 is anticipated to launch with an OLED display measuring between 6.3 and 6.39 inches. It will be powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, ensuring top-tier performance. The device will sport a triple 50 MP rear camera setup, featuring a 1/1.3-inch main sensor. Additionally, the periscope telephoto module, a popular feature, will remain part of the series.
Xiaomi plans to unveil the new series in China towards the end of September, with a global release scheduled a few months later. Drawing parallels from last year’s Xiaomi 15, which debuted in October and became available internationally in March, the current timeline suggests a potential global launch in January-February of the next year.
