Group chats have been revamped with new functionalities. WhatsApp now displays an online indicator for group messages, allowing users to see which members are currently active on the app. This feature, located directly beneath the group chat name, provides real-time insights into chat engagement. Additionally, users can personalize their notification preferences through the “Send notifications for” setting within group chat options. The “Highlights” option prioritizes notifications for @mentions, replies, or messages from saved contacts. Users have full authority over their notification settings, enabling them to receive all alerts or mute them entirely.

Furthermore, the app has introduced the capability to create events in one-to-one chats, a feature that was previously exclusive to group conversations.

Exclusive Features for iPhone Users

iOS users can enjoy two standout features:

• WhatsApp now provides a built-in document scanner for iOS users. This feature, accessible via the “Scan Document” option in the attachment tray, simplifies the process of scanning, cropping, and saving documents.
• Additionally, iPhone users can set WhatsApp as their default app for calls and messages, ensuring seamless integration with the iOS ecosystem.

Efficient Reaction Copy Feature

The latest updates for WhatsApp calls include:

• On iOS, users can utilize the pinch gesture to zoom in during video calls, applicable to both their own and the other participant’s video stream.
