Vivo, renowned for its innovative approach in both budget and flagship smartphone categories, is gearing up to reveal its latest marvel, the Vivo X Fold 5. Ahead of its official launch, a new promotional video has been released in China. This video, shared by Han Boxiao, Vivo China’s Product Manager, highlights a groundbreaking feature of the device.
The Lightest X Fold Yet
According to the promotional material, the Vivo X Fold 5 is set to be a revolutionary device, weighing in at just 209 grams. When unfolded, the phone boasts a slender profile of only 4.3 mm, and when folded, it measures 9.33 mm. This achievement makes it the “world’s lightest foldable phone” upon its release. While it surpasses the X Fold 3 in terms of weight and thickness, it is slightly thicker than the Oppo Find N5, which is 8.9 mm thick.
Technical Specifications and Features
The Vivo X Fold 5 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It will come with a robust configuration of 16GB RAM and offer a massive 1TB of storage. Although specific details on fast charging are not yet disclosed, the device will feature a substantial 6,000mAh battery capacity.
In the camera department, the X Fold 5 is equipped with a 50 MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto sensor. Additionally, it will feature two 20 MP selfie cameras, one on the cover and another on the internal display.
The Vivo X Fold 5 is anticipated to make its debut in the Chinese market this month. Alongside the X Fold 5, Vivo is set to unveil the Pad 5e tablet and TWS Air 3 Pro wireless headphones at the same event. The Pad 5e is speculated to feature a 12.1-inch LCD display harnessing the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform. However, other technical specifications of the tablet remain under wraps.
