The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip intensifies as the Israeli army continues its offensive. According to the latest announcement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, 90 individuals have lost their lives and 605 have been injured within the past 48 hours alone. This tragic toll highlights the ongoing violence and the severe impact on the local population.
Since March 18, when Israel unilaterally terminated the ceasefire agreement in the region, the death toll has surged to 514 with 16,385 wounded. From the onset of the attacks on October 7, 2023, the cumulative number of casualties has reached 55,297 and the injured count has risen to 128,426.
Recent reports indicate that Israeli strikes on areas designated for humanitarian aid distribution have resulted in further casualties. In the last 24 hours, 29 individuals have been killed and 380 wounded in these so-called safe zones. Since the escalation began on May 27, the total fatalities in these areas have climbed to 274, with 2,532 injured. This ongoing violence severely hampers humanitarian efforts and exacerbates the suffering of the civilian population.
