Samsung has unveiled The Premiere 5, marking a significant milestone as the industry’s first interactive triple laser ultra-short throw (UST) projector. This innovative device is poised to redefine how we perceive projection systems with its versatile and interactive features, proving beneficial for work, education, and home entertainment.
The latest offering in Samsung’s The Premiere series boasts a cutting-edge triple laser ultra-short throw projection system that delivers stunning 4K resolution. Remarkably, it can showcase a 100-inch image (diagonally) from a mere 43 cm away. Its unique design enables it to project images onto any flat surface, including floors, screens, tables, or walls.
Equipped with an infrared camera and laser module, The Premiere 5 adeptly tracks hand and finger movements, transforming its projection surface into an interactive touch interface. Users can interact with images and web pages with ease, similar to using a smartphone screen.
The device intuitively adapts to its environment by automatically calibrating brightness, colors, and contrast, ensuring optimal image quality without extensive manual adjustments. Operating on Tizen OS 9.0 with the One UI interface, it provides access to a plethora of popular music and video streaming applications. Additionally, users can manage smart home devices seamlessly through the integrated SmartThings app.
Currently available in South Korea, Samsung has priced The Premiere 5 at KRW 1.99 million, which is approximately $1,377. This pricing positions it competitively in the high-end projector market, offering advanced features that cater to both tech enthusiasts and casual users alike.
