Samsung continues to push boundaries in mobile technology with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, marking a significant shift back to the Exynos platform. This year, the spotlight falls on the new Exynos 2600 processor, built using Samsung’s advanced 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) manufacturing technology. Early reports suggest that this new chipset could redefine both efficiency and performance standards in flagship smartphones.

The long-developing 2nm GAA process is Samsung’s answer to the efficiency hurdles encountered in its 3nm phase. Thanks to recent improvements, production yields have risen from 30% to nearly 50%, paving the way for mass production expected by the end of September. This new process is designed to deliver impressive results, providing 12% faster performance, 25% higher energy efficiency, and a 5% smaller chip area. Most notably, the integration of backside power delivery (BSPDN) technology is anticipated to drastically reduce power loss and improve heat management.

Benchmark Leaks and Performance Highlights

Leaked Geekbench 6 results for the Exynos 2600 show remarkable performance gains. The initial test version achieved scores of 2,155 for single-core and 7,788 for multi-core, while a newer revision with boosted frequencies reached an outstanding 3,309 / 11,256 points. These figures place the Exynos 2600 on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s lower-frequency variant.

The processor’s architecture features a 1+3+6 core configuration, consisting of one core running at 3.80GHz, three cores at 3.26GHz, and six efficiency cores at 2.76GHz. This refined setup promises enhanced processing power without compromising on energy optimization.

Implementation in the Galaxy S26 Lineup

According to analysts, the Exynos 2600 won’t be limited to a few regional variants. In fact, it could power the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26+, and even the Galaxy S26 Ultra, eliminating any noticeable performance gap between Exynos and Snapdragon models. This step signals Samsung’s confidence in its new architecture and its vision for delivering a unified flagship experience worldwide.

By combining efficiency, performance, and cooling improvements within a refined design, the Exynos 2600 may well mark a turning point for Samsung’s silicon strategy and a new era for the Galaxy S series.
