Samsung has recently unveiled the One UI 8 beta, built on Android 16, for the Galaxy S25 series. Excitingly, these aren’t the only devices poised to receive this update. According to a notice on the Samsung community forum, the Galaxy S22 series will soon join the ranks of those eligible for the One UI 8 beta program.

The One UI 8 beta initiative is set to launch soon for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Earlier this month, the Galaxy S22 Ultra appeared on Geekbench running Android 16, sparking speculation about its potential for beta updates. Now, it’s confirmed that the Galaxy S22 lineup will indeed access the One UI 8 beta.

This update represents the final major Android upgrade for the Galaxy S22 series. While the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra will no longer receive major OS updates, they will continue to benefit from timely security patches to ensure ongoing device protection.
