Expanded Connectivity and Document Integration

In a move to improve utility, ChatGPT now directly integrates with cloud storage platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, and SharePoint. This integration allows users to efficiently search and utilize their corporate documents, resulting in more contextually relevant responses. For instance, an investment analyst can craft investment theses from the company’s stored presentations and reports, while a marketing manager can derive strategic insights from previous campaign documents. OpenAI assures that these integrations respect an internal access control system, ensuring users access only authorized content.

Expanded Connectivity and Document Integration

Access details for these connectors are as follows:

  • Plus and Pro users (excluding those in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom) along with Team, Enterprise, and Edu users can connect to Deep Research resources like Google Drive, Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Linear.
  • SharePoint, Dropbox, and Box connectors are restricted to Team, Enterprise, and Edu users only.

Innovative Meeting Recording and Summarization

The newly introduced “Record Mode” allows users to record and automatically transcribe meetings, discussions, or voice notes. This feature converts recordings into time-stamped notes, highlights essential information, and creates actionable items. These notes can be seamlessly transferred to OpenAI’s Canvas tool, which is used for writing and coding projects, thereby transforming meeting notes into actionable lists, plans, or code drafts effortlessly.

Availability of “Record Mode”:

  • Currently, it is exclusive to Team plan members on macOS.
  • It will soon roll out to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users.

The introduction of “Deep Research” connectors is another major development. This feature allows users to compile comprehensive research reports by merging internal data with web information. The tools integrated for this purpose include HubSpot, Linear, Gmail, Google Drive, Outlook, and Teams. OpenAI also provides customizable integration options for larger enterprises. With the addition of MCP (Model Context Protocol) support, businesses can securely link ChatGPT to their internal systems or custom applications, ensuring high data security and integrity. MCP is currently in beta and available to:

  • Pro users
