New Orleans Pelicans’ Season Hit by Major Injuries

The New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA are facing a challenging period as two of their star players, Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum, have been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injuries.

Zion Williamson, who was performing remarkably with an average of 24.6 points and 7.2 rebounds across 30 games, suffered a significant setback. The injury occurred during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 19, when he experienced a crushed back bone after a hard fall. This unfortunate event has left the Pelicans without one of their standout players.

Similarly, CJ McCollum, another key player for the Pelicans, was injured during a matchup with the Detroit Pistons on March 23. McCollum, who had been contributing an average of 21.1 points over 56 games, sustained a crushed right foot bone, further compounding the team’s injury woes.

The absence of Williamson and McCollum presents a significant hurdle for the Pelicans as they continue their season without two of their most impactful players.
