The much-anticipated game MindsEye, crafted by the visionary former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies, is set to debut next week. Often compared to the iconic GTA series, MindsEye will be accessible on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. With the game currently available for pre-order, Benzies has shed light on the expected gameplay duration, stating that the story mode will span approximately twenty hours.
Benzies explains that this relatively concise duration is a deliberate decision. He observes that a significant number of players, around 60 to 70%, tend to complete big-budget games. Thus, Build A Rocket Boy studio aims to deliver an experience that players are more likely to finish.
Unlike the expansive worlds of the GTA series, MindsEye opts for a linear gameplay approach, which Benzies suggests enhances the storytelling. He believes that linear gameplay allows for more effective narrative delivery, asserting that some stories require structured guidance. In MindsEye, players will embark on a journey starting with Jacob’s arrival in the city of Redrock, culminating at a predetermined point.
Although the game shies away from an open-world format, it compensates with engaging side quests. These quests promise to delve deeper into the characters’ backgrounds and the broader universe in which the story unfolds.
Moreover, future updates hint at the inclusion of multiplayer content, which will be a blend of free and paid expansions. These additions aim to enrich the MindsEye universe, introducing new quests, stories, and avenues for character development.
