In October of the previous year, Microsoft revealed a revamped chat and channel interface for Teams. After extensive testing with millions of users in both private and public channels, this new interface update has become widely accessible. It is currently being rolled out to commercial users, with availability for Government Clouds and other cloud customers expected in the coming weeks.
With the phase-out of Skype, the majority of users have transitioned to Microsoft Teams. This shift has significantly increased the number of Teams users, as commercial enterprises also migrate their workforce to the platform.
The updated Teams interface allows users to easily filter and categorize their messages, channels, meetings, and unread messages. For those seeking more customization, new custom sections enable users to organize conversations from chats, channels, meetings, Teams bots, or AI agents.
Additionally, Microsoft is introducing a streamlined message experience that lets users send new messages to both chats and channels from a single location.
While the new interface is activated by default, users have the option to configure it to view chats and channels separately, maintaining the previous layout if desired.
For those who have not yet made the transition to Microsoft Teams and wish to explore its features, the application can be downloaded from the official website, where users can sign up for free.
