Released in October of last year, Windows 11 24H2 introduced a suite of new features and enhancements. This update enriched File Explorer with new capabilities, revamped the Start menu by integrating the Phone Connection and Power Settings interface, and provided a smoother video calling experience. It also made significant strides in incorporating artificial intelligence into the operating system.
Initially, the rollout was designed to be gradual, but unforeseen bugs hindered deployment on some devices. Microsoft has since resolved the major issues! Despite the challenges, the update is now considered stable enough for widespread use.
Even more than six months post-launch, some minor issues persist. However, these have been deemed non-critical by Microsoft, allowing them to expand availability. As a result, Windows 11 24H2 is now accessible for download across all compatible PCs.
If you’re operating on an older version of Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can easily upgrade to the latest version by navigating to Settings, then Windows Update, and checking for updates. Once your device is ready, you’ll see the option to Download and Install Windows 11, version 24H2.
Moreover, Microsoft is initiating automatic updates for unmanaged Windows 11 devices. This means that devices running Windows 11 Home/Pro versions 23H2 and 22H2, which are not under IT management, will automatically receive the Windows 11 24H2 update.
