Meta’s revolutionary artificial intelligence assistant, Meta AI, has achieved a significant milestone, boasting 1 billion monthly active users across the company’s diverse suite of applications. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, highlighted this achievement during the company’s recent annual shareholder meeting. He emphasized that the primary focus for this year is to enhance the Meta AI experience, aiming to transform it into a leading personal AI that excels in personalization, voice interactions, and entertainment.
The introduction of the independent Meta AI app in April is believed to have significantly contributed to this user growth. Transitioning from Free to Paid Models, Zuckerberg revealed plans to focus on developing Meta AI more thoroughly before considering revenue generation. Potential strategies include introducing paid recommendations or a subscription model that grants access to enhanced processing capabilities. In February, reports from CNBC suggested that Meta was gearing up to trial a subscription system akin to ChatGPT’s.
This development not only highlights Meta AI’s exponential user growth but also its promising revenue prospects. In his address to shareholders, Zuckerberg remarked, “It might seem amusing that a billion monthly active users aren’t viewed as sufficient scale for us, yet this is the stage we’ve reached,” signaling the platform’s vast potential for further expansion. Notably, in September 2024, Meta AI had already reached 500 million monthly users, showcasing remarkable growth.
