Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hardcore Mode: A True Medieval Challenge

The eagerly awaited update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been released, introducing the Hardcore Mode for those seeking a truly immersive medieval experience.

Enhanced Difficulty and Immersive Experience

With this new mode, the game’s difficulty is significantly heightened. Players must select at least three out of ten distinct negative traits at the game’s start, such as being a character subjected to harsher treatment by the guards. These challenging traits persist throughout the entire game.

Navigation and Direction

In Hardcore mode, the compass directions are disabled, eliminating the ability to pinpoint your location easily. Players must rely on alternative methods, such as using the North Star with a star chart from 1403 or seeking guidance from the sun during the day. For those not keen on celestial navigation, asking directions from an AI character is always an option.

Game Mechanics Adjustments

Mechanics designed for player convenience, such as fast travel, are notably absent in this mode, enhancing the realism of the journey.

Combat Challenges

Combat becomes more intense without any interface indicators. Players need to focus on their enemy’s stance and sword grip to strategize their moves effectively.

Additional Updates and Fixes

This update also brings a host of bug fixes, addressing issues related to dice, items, mods, abilities, and boosts, as well as improvements in stability and research missions. Moreover, players can now visit the barber to reset their main character’s hairstyle.
