A significant transfer development sees Jobe Bellingham, who has been excelling at Sunderland, making headlines.
As reported by The Sun, Sunderland has agreed to a record-setting £27.8 million transfer deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jobe Bellingham. This agreement also includes a future resale clause, ensuring Sunderland receives 15% of any subsequent sale of Jobe.
This transfer positions Jobe as the second most expensive acquisition in Dortmund’s history, surpassing the transfer fee of his elder brother, Jude Bellingham.
Jobe has been pivotal in Sunderland’s triumphant return to the Premier League this season. The 19-year-old talent, who transitioned from Birmingham to Sunderland in the summer of 2023, initiated both his youth and professional football careers at Birmingham, following in his brother’s footsteps.
Throughout the Championship season, Jobe was a consistent starter, taking the field in 39 out of 40 matches, only sitting out once due to injury. He was replaced just once during the season, completing the full 90 minutes in all other appearances.
His brother Jude made headlines with his move from Dortmund to Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, becoming the club’s second most costly signing, just after Eden Hazard.
