Huawei is gearing up for a bold stride into the desktop computer arena. The tech giant is poised to launch its inaugural PC, operating on its proprietary operating system, in the coming week. Simultaneously, rumors are swirling about another groundbreaking model in the works. Leaked details suggest that Huawei is developing a foldable laptop, potentially unveiling it by the month’s end.
Expected to debut as the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, this innovative device, code-named HPR-W72, is anticipated to feature an impressive 32 GB RAM and a substantial 2 TB of storage. Adding to its allure, the laptop could boast a unique “forged shadow black” coating.
While the concept of a foldable laptop isn’t entirely new, Huawei appears to be taking a fresh approach in this domain. Noteworthy is the company’s strategy to implement its own solutions across both hardware and software spectrums. This particular model will operate on a new HarmonyOS-based system and will be powered by Huawei’s Kirin X90 processor.
A promotional image released by Huawei hints at a silhouette suggestive of a foldable design, accompanied by the text “Ultimate Design.” Although the image does not reveal the device explicitly, it is widely expected that this new model will be officially introduced at a presentation scheduled for 19 May. The same event will also showcase the Nova 14 series.
Details regarding pricing and full technical specifications remain unconfirmed. Nevertheless, this foldable PC, which integrates the operating system, hardware, and design into a cohesive unit, stands to be one of the most noteworthy releases of the year.
