In a highly anticipated announcement, Google has unveiled Android 16 along with the innovative Material 3 Expressive UI design. This latest release promises to bring a fresh and dynamic look to Android devices, enhancing user experience with its new design elements.
During the presentation, Sameer Samat, Head of Android Ecosystem, shared that the stable version of Android 16 is set to be available on Samsung’s eligible Galaxy phones and tablets by the summer of 2025. This means that between 20 June and 22 September, Samsung users can expect to receive this exciting update. Meanwhile, Google’s Pixel devices are slated to receive the update as early as June.
Consistent with earlier reports, it’s anticipated that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will debut in July, equipped with One UI 8.0 right out of the box. Additionally, Samsung is launching the One UI 8 Beta program this month, indicating a proactive approach to software updates. This initiative is a strategic move to avoid the delays experienced with One UI 7, which was based on Android 15 and caused significant dissatisfaction due to its over five-month delay.
By rolling out the One UI 8 Beta Programme more promptly, Samsung aims to rectify past missteps and offer an improved timeline for its users. It is anticipated that this program will launch for the Galaxy S25 series in the upcoming weeks, signifying Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user satisfaction and software reliability.
