Google Chrome has achieved a remarkable milestone in browser performance, setting a new record in the Speedometer 3 benchmark test. Over the past year, Google’s relentless optimization efforts have culminated in a substantial 10 percent performance enhancement since August 2024.
The Speedometer 3 benchmark test evaluates a browser’s proficiency in executing everyday web tasks, including script execution, CSS rendering, font rendering, and HTML display. During a test on an M15 processor MacBook Pro running macOS 4, Chrome achieved its highest performance score to date. Google attributes these gains to a series of behind-the-scenes advancements.
Engineers have meticulously refined the browser’s memory allocation, enhanced text rendering processes, and optimized CSS and JavaScript management. These improvements collectively contribute to a smoother web experience and decreased system load. Google remains committed to further enhancing Chrome’s browsing capabilities, with more updates anticipated in the near future.
