Houston Police are actively investigating a tragic incident involving a fatal shooting that occurred on the northeast side of the city on Monday. The event unfolded in the 3100 block of E. Crosstimbers Street shortly after 4 p.m.
According to initial reports from the Houston Police Department (HPD), two men were engaged in an altercation, which unfortunately escalated when one of the individuals discharged a firearm, fatally wounding the other.
In an official statement, HPD communicated, “Homicide investigators are en route to the scene of a fatal shooting incident in the 3100 block of East Crosstimbers St.” They further noted, “Preliminary information suggests the victim, a male, was shot during a confrontation with an unknown male shortly after 4 p.m. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.”
As the investigation proceeds, police have temporarily shut down all eastbound lanes of Crosstimbers Street, urging the public to avoid the area to ensure safety and facilitate the ongoing investigation.
