Cristian Chivu has been officially named the new head coach of the prestigious Italian Serie A team, Inter Milan. In a recent statement released on the club’s official website, it was confirmed that the former Romanian footballer has committed to a contract extending until June 30, 2027.
At 44 years old, Chivu brings a wealth of experience both on and off the field. His coaching career includes a notable stint with Parma, where he served as head coach from February 2025 to June 2025.
Chivu’s appointment comes following Inter’s decision on June 3 to part ways with the accomplished Italian coach Simone Inzaghi. Inzaghi’s tenure was marked by significant achievements, including winning 1 Serie A title, 2 Italian Cups, and 3 Italian Super Cups, as well as leading the team to the UEFA Champions League finals in both 2023 and 2025.
