AXA Turkey is making significant strides in attracting young talent to the insurance sector through its long-term talent programs and digital transformation initiatives. In an interview with Sigorta Dünyası, Zeynep Ergenç, the Head of Human Resources at AXA Turkey, shared insights into how the company plans to solidify its leadership position in the industry. By offering employees a bespoke experience through flexible working models and career development opportunities, AXA Turkey aims to lead the charge.
According to Ergenç, the insurance sector’s demand for skilled professionals is on the rise, but drawing interest requires strategic internal efforts. She emphasized that the talent gap is not exclusive to the insurance sector but is a challenge across all industries due to rapidly evolving technological and economic landscapes. “Talent expectations vary greatly, so offering a personalized experience is crucial,” Ergenç noted.
AXA Turkey places a strong emphasis on talent management. “Our strategy is to recruit talent for AXA, not just for specific positions,” stated Ergenç. With this approach, AXA aims not only to meet current demands but also to groom future leaders. All job openings are transparently shared within the company, and employees are empowered to shape their career paths.
Ergenç highlighted AXA Turkey’s long-term talent programs aimed at integrating young talent into the sector. Through initiatives like AXIS and EXEN, young professionals receive valuable development opportunities. “These programs not only supply the talent AXA needs but also benefit the industry at large,” Ergenç explained. Collaborations with educational institutions further expand their reach.
Ergenç pointed out that insurance is becoming increasingly appealing to recent graduates skilled in technology and data analytics. “The digitalization and innovative solutions make the insurance sector more visible to young talent,” she said. Through partnerships with universities, AXA introduces students to the myriad opportunities within the industry.
Ergenç emphasized that digital transformation and artificial intelligence are reshaping not only operations but also strategic decision-making. AXA Turkey prepares its workforce through training in digital literacy and AI awareness. “Our AI 101 course equips employees for this evolving landscape,” said Ergenç. Additionally, senior management sponsors initiatives to highlight AI’s potential risks.
AXA Turkey’s flexible working model, “Creative, Flexible, Simple (YES!),” was also discussed by Ergenç. This initiative offers modern work arrangements to support employees’ work-life balance. “We aim to support our employees both professionally and socially, fostering a safe and supportive environment,” she stated. Regular surveys and interviews are conducted to assess and improve employee satisfaction continuously.
