The iOS 18 operating system, introduced by Apple approximately a year ago, came with a suite of artificial intelligence-driven features. However, some anticipated functionalities were deferred to subsequent versions, iOS 18.5 and 19. Recently, Apple has announced that the much-awaited iOS 18.5, which has undergone extensive testing, will soon be available to all users. Here, we delve into the expected enhancements.
The iOS 18.5 update was confirmed via Apple’s press release announcing the new Pride collection. After over a month of beta testing, the Release Candidate (RC) version is anticipated to be released to users this week, with the final version following next week. What developments will the new version bring? Here are some key details:
While iOS 18.5 doesn’t introduce major innovations, it includes notable minor changes in the Mail and Settings applications. Users can now switch off contact photos directly in the Mail app through the three-dot icon located at the upper right corner. Previously, this setting was only accessible through the Settings app.
Another update appears in the Settings menu, where AppleCare+ coverage information is now more prominently displayed. Additionally, the update features a visually striking new Pride wallpaper. Part of the 2025 Pride collection, this exclusive design showcases colorful stripes that move in response to user interactions on both iPhone and iPad. As part of the collection, Apple also released a new Apple Watch band and watch face. The band is available for purchase on Apple’s online store for 1,999 TL.
Following the completion of Release Candidate tests, the stable version is expected to be available to users next week. Therefore, it is likely to be accessible starting from 12 May.
