Celebrating Women’s Perspectives in Photography

The eagerly awaited results of the 2025 edition of Turkey’s exclusive photography contest for women, ‘Life through Women’s Eyes’, organized by Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik, have been unveiled. This contest, now in its 19th year, provides a unique platform for women to express their perspectives on ‘Life’ through the art of photography. The top honor this year was awarded to Gülin Yiğiter for her captivating image titled ‘Flamingos’.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation with 976 women photographers submitting a total of 3,469 images. Of these, 45 photographs were selected for awards and exhibition. Gülin Yiğiter claimed the first prize with her work ‘Flamingos’. The second prize was awarded to Gülay Kocamış for her dynamic piece ‘Turkish Stars Anıtkabir Homage Flight’, while Münevver Ulusoy took third place with ‘Spring’.

In a new category introduced this year to highlight the importance of ‘a sustainable future’, the Environmental Sustainability Award was presented to Şerife Uçarkuş for her piece ‘Macro’, which beautifully captures the essence of life’s continuity.

Honorable mentions were given to Arzu Adalı for ‘Fisherman’, Lütfiye Filiz Yolaçan for ‘Ballerinas’, and Seher Bakım for ‘Taksim’. These works reflect the rich diversity and creativity of women’s perspectives across different themes.

Organized with the collaboration of the Turkish Federation of Photographic Arts (TFSF), this contest has been a beacon for the social and cultural enrichment of women, encouraging their artistic endeavors for nearly two decades. Since its inception, over 110,000 photographs by more than 29,000 women photographers have been evaluated, showcasing the thriving talent pool in Turkey.
