The 2024-2025 Trendyol Super League season concluded with intense matches in the 38th week. This season, a remarkable number of 36 coaches, including 26 locals and 10 from abroad, took charge across 19 teams. The first coaching change was initiated by Trabzonspor, following disappointing results in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League qualifiers. Abdullah Avcı parted ways with the club before the 2nd-week match against Eyüpspor. Şenol Güneş then stepped in, leading the team for 26 matches. Later, Fatih Tekke took the helm on March 11, 2025, managing the last 11 matches of the season.
Adana Demirspor saw the highest turnover, parting ways with Michael Valkanis after a poor start of 1 draw and 5 defeats in 6 league matches. Initially, Serkan Damla stepped in for 6 matches, followed by Mustafa Dalcı, who managed 8 league and 2 Turkish Cup matches, securing 3 wins against 7 losses. Finally, Mustafa Alper Avcı took over in late January, securing 6 points through 1 win, 3 draws, and 12 defeats.
Throughout the season, eight clubs experienced three coaching changes each. Beşiktaş began with Giovanni van Bronckhorst but parted ways by November 30. After interim management by Serdar Topraktepe for 7 league games and European and Turkish Cup ties, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed on January 19, 2025. Solskjaer completed the season and will continue next year. Meanwhile, Sivasspor, Hatayspor, and Bodrum FK, all of whom will compete in the Trendyol 1st League next season, also experienced three coaching changes. Bodrum FK began with İsmet Taşdemir, switched to Volkan Demirel, and ended with Jose Morais, resulting in relegation. Sivasspor transitioned from Bülent Uygun to Ömer Erdoğan and finally Rıza Çalımbay, but still faced relegation with 35 points. Hatayspor’s season saw Özhan Pulat start and Murat Şahin end the campaign. Other teams like Trabzonspor, Alanyaspor, Kayserispor, and Kasımpaşa also saw multiple managerial shifts.
In stark contrast, seven teams maintained coaching consistency throughout the season. Galatasaray, crowned champions for the 25th time, along with Fenerbahçe, remained steadfast with Okan Buruk and Jose Mourinho, respectively. Samsunspor, finishing third and securing a Europa League spot, placed faith in Thomas Reis. Eyüpspor, freshly promoted, enjoyed a successful season under Arda Turan, who departed post-season for Shakhtar Donetsk. Başakşehir, set for the Conference League qualifiers, renewed Çağdaş Atan’s contract for two more years. Göztepe, finishing 8th with 50 points, saw Bulgarian Stanimir Stoilov complete his tenure since November 21, 2023. Similarly, Çaykur Rizespor, under İlhan Palut, garnered 49 points.
Leading Galatasaray to their 25th Super League title, Okan Buruk stands as a beacon of stability in the league. The 51-year-old has clinched the championship in three consecutive seasons. With an impressive record of 91 victories in 110 matches over three seasons, Buruk remains the most consistent coach in the Super League.
