Explore why ‘The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion’ is experiencing a resurgence in popularity among gamers and nostalgic fans alike.

The unexpected release of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remaster, announced with a surprising shadow drop, has caught the gaming community’s attention. Despite its availability on Game Pass, the remaster has managed to attract a significant number of players on Steam as well. Recent statistics reveal a 24-hour peak concurrent player count of 190,000, while the current player count is hovering around 72,000.
Although the developer Virtuous has indicated that there is no official mod support for Oblivion Remaster at this time, the community has been proactive. Over 200 mods have already been uploaded to popular modding sites like Nexus Mods. However, this number fluctuates as certain mods get banned for various reasons.
Among the noteworthy mods, familiar names from the original Oblivion emerge, such as Faster (And Slower) Levelling and Slower Item Degradation. Interestingly, a mod that introduced a male/female selection feature was banned from Nexus, and is now only available on alternative platforms.
