Spotify Teams Up with EA Sports for a New Audio Experience in Gaming

In an exciting development for gamers, Spotify has joined forces with EA Sports to pilot an innovative audio experience for players of EA SPORTS FC 25 in Australia and Saudi Arabia. This collaboration allows gamers in these regions to access an extensive library of audio content while engaging with the soccer game on their PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S.

The initiative is currently available exclusively to Spotify Premium users, offering them the ability to enjoy music, podcasts, and audiobooks seamlessly integrated into their gaming sessions. This move builds upon the existing partnership between the companies, which previously saw the creation of an official music track for EA Sports FC 25.

Spotify describes the experience as one where players can curate their ultimate soundtrack for every gaming moment. Whether it’s enjoying a personal victory anthem or soundtracking the assembly of an Ultimate Team roster, the possibilities are expansive.

To initiate the integration, players can open Spotify from the main game menu and select ‘Sign in’. By scanning a QR code with a smartphone camera, users can quickly pair their Spotify Premium account. From there, they can navigate to their library to access saved tracks or play curated FC playlists directly from the game’s soundtrack menu.

Once linked, gamers have multiple options to access Spotify, including through the match setup menu or the pause menu during gameplay. Spotify’s in-game widget provides three main tabs: Home, Your Library, and Soundtrack, the latter offering suggested playlists and albums from Spotify and EA Sports.

Among the features, players can switch their default audio from commentary to Spotify and even display a Spotify overlay while playing. They can also skip or select tracks at any time via the pause menu. However, it’s important to note that some music isn’t currently available in this experience, and users will need to use the Spotify app to access the full library.

As of now, there is no official announcement regarding the global rollout of this Spotify-EA Sports audio integration, but the current test phase is a promising step towards enhancing the interactive gaming experience.
