Sony Enhances Portable Audio Lineup with ULT Field Speakers

Sony has broadened its collection of portable audio devices, unveiling two new models: the Sony ULT Field 3 and Sony ULT Field 5. These speakers are equipped with the latest ULT audio technology, offering an impressive blend of durability, portability, and superior sound quality, specifically engineered for outdoor environments.

Sony ULT Field 3 boasts an 83mm × 46mm X-Balanced mid-bass driver coupled with a 20mm dome tweeter, enhanced by passive radiators. This hardware configuration enables the speaker to achieve a peak sound level of 85 decibels. The incorporation of ULT technology enhances low-frequency sounds via an exclusive button, delivering a robust audio experience akin to full-sized speakers. Engineered to withstand challenging outdoor conditions, the ULT Field 3 is certified with both MIL-STD-810H and IP67 ratings.

The speaker offers up to 24 hours of playtime on a full charge, and a quick 10-minute charge can provide an extra two hours of use. Additionally, the device features a Powerbank function, allowing it to charge other devices. The ULT Field 3 is available at a price point of $193.

The Sony ULT Field 5 model elevates the auditory experience with its more powerful sound output. It includes a 107mm × 79mm woofer, dual 46mm tweeters, and side-mounted passive radiators. This configuration allows the speaker to achieve sound levels of up to 91 decibels with a maximum output power of 110W. The device supports high-quality audio input via a 3.5mm jack, accommodating 48kHz/24-bit ADC audio for a broad sound spectrum.

Connectivity is facilitated through Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring stable wireless play, and the speaker offers up to 25 hours of battery life. The ULT Field 5 also includes vibrant RGB light strips, adding a visual element to the audio experience. This model is priced at $318.
