Capcom is finally gearing up to release its eagerly anticipated next-gen sci-fi action game, Pragmata, with a fresh release target on the horizon. Initially unveiled in 2020, the game has faced multiple delays, but now aims for a 2026 launch, as revealed in a captivating new trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play event on June 4.
The new trailer, along with insights shared on the PlayStation Blog, hints at a gripping and emotionally charged narrative unfolding on the lunar surface. Players will dive into the roles of Hugh, an astronaut-like character, and Diana, a young robot girl equipped with advanced artificial intelligence. Together, they must navigate the perilous environment of a seemingly deserted moon base, fending off hostile robots and other dangers. Diana’s prowess in accessing digital systems, paired with Hugh’s physical capabilities, forms the core gameplay mechanic, requiring players to harness both characters’ strengths in tandem. The trailer teases scenes of cyber conflicts and intense melee combat, indicating a fusion of hack-and-slash action with intricate puzzle-solving elements.
Pragmata was initially set to debut in 2022, following its announcement during the PlayStation 5’s launch phase. However, unforeseen challenges in development led to postponements to 2023 and subsequently to an indefinite timeline. With the new 2026 target, Capcom reiterates its dedication to bringing this ambitious project to fruition. While the game is confirmed for release on the PlayStation 5, it is highly anticipated that versions for Xbox Series X/S and PC will also become available in 2026.
