Renowned for developing some of the gaming industry’s most underrated titles, such as Bulletstorm and Outriders, People Can Fly has officially confirmed that Project Maverick is indeed a Gears of War game. This project, which has piqued the interest of many since its initial mention in the summer of 2023, is backed by Microsoft with a substantial budget ranging from $30 million to $50 million.
Early in the year, speculation arose suggesting that Project Maverick was actually Gears of War: E-Day. It was later revealed that People Can Fly would be working closely with The Coalition to bring this project to life. The developer’s investor page has now officially confirmed that Project Maverick is indeed Gears of War: E-Day. This partnership marks a return to the franchise for People Can Fly, who were instrumental in developing the first three games of the series.
Apart from their work on the Gears of War series, People Can Fly remains committed to the realm of virtual reality gaming. Although Bulletstorm VR did not achieve the success they had hoped for, the developer is undeterred and is planning to introduce seven new VR projects in the near future.
