Microsoft has officially confirmed that the latest iteration of Windows 11, version 11H24H2, is now entering its final deployment stage. This marks a pivotal moment as the company gears up to automatically distribute this update to millions of Home and Pro users globally, facilitating the shift to the most recent version of their operating system.

Timeline for Automatic Update Rollout

Beginning May 2, 2025, the 2024 Update (24H2) will initiate background downloads across devices currently operating on Windows 11 versions 21H2, 22H2, 23H2, or even Windows 10. Once the download is completed, users can navigate to Settings > Windows Update to choose their preferred installation time or opt to delay it for a maximum of four weeks.

For those requiring extended postponement, tools such as command line utilities or policy settings adjustments can be employed to permanently halt or block the update process.
