Microsoft has officially unveiled the Surface Laptop 13 Inch Copilot+ PC model, designed to offer a more portable and budget-friendly option for tech enthusiasts in 2025. The laptop is equipped with the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor.
This latest addition to the Surface family is touted as the thinnest and lightest Surface Laptop ever, making it an ideal choice for users on the go. With a slightly smaller 13-inch screen compared to the Surface Laptop 7’s 13.8-inch display, this model is not only compact but also lighter. The device features a sleek chassis crafted from anodised aluminium and is available in three stunning colors, including an elegant Violet option.
The Surface Laptop 13 Inch is powered by an impressive 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor, boasting 45 TOPS NPUs that deliver AI-powered experiences seamlessly in Windows 11. Microsoft proudly claims that this laptop offers a performance boost of 50% over the Surface Laptop 5 and even rivals the MacBook Air M3 in efficiency.
Focused on battery longevity rather than sheer speed, the Surface Laptop 13 Inch promises unparalleled endurance. Microsoft asserts that it delivers the longest battery life among all Surface devices, capable of up to 23 hours of video playback or 16 hours of web browsing.
The laptop’s Full HD (1,920 x 1,280) touchscreen display operates at a 60 Hz refresh rate. It comes with 16 GB of RAM and offers storage options of 256 GB and 512 GB using UFS technology. Notably, the infrared Windows Hello camera has been replaced by a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for enhanced security.
Features such as a backlit keyboard and a haptic trackpad enhance user interaction. Unlike the new Surface Pro 12 Inch, the Surface Laptop 13 Inch includes a charger in the box. Connectivity is robust, featuring two USB 3.2 Type-C ports with display outputs supporting up to two 4K 60Hz displays, a USB 3.1 Type-A, and a 3.5mm audio jack. However, the Surface Connect port is not included, similar to the Surface Pro 12 Inch.

The Surface Laptop 13 Inch is priced at $899 for the basic 256 GB variant. The product is set to hit the shelves starting 20 May.
