As anticipation builds, Honor is ramping up efforts to unveil its next-generation flagship, the Magic8 Pro, following the highly praised Magic7 Pro released last November. The upcoming device is slated for an October 2025 launch and is already generating significant buzz.
The Magic8 Pro will be powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, which promises a substantial boost in performance. In terms of photography, Honor maintains the robust camera setup from the Magic7 Pro, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. While the hardware remains consistent, the focus shifts to enhancing the camera experience through software advancements.
These improvements include smoother frame transitions, frame synthesis, quicker focusing, enhanced dynamic range, and reduced power usage. Such innovations aim to elevate the AI-powered Falcon Camera System, which garnered acclaim last year, to new heights.
The Magic7 Pro was noted for its impressive 100x zoom and exceptional night photography. With these software enhancements, the Magic8 Pro is expected to deliver even better performance in low-light conditions and offer more stabilized video capture.
In terms of design, the Magic8 Pro will retain the signature look of its predecessor, the Magic7 Pro, with a flat back and subtly curved edges. The 6.8-inch AMOLED display will boast a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels. Up front, a pill-shaped camera cutout will house a TOF 3D sensor for secure facial recognition.
Additionally, the device will come equipped with a 5,850mAh battery and will be resilient against water and dust, earning IP68/IP69 certifications.
