AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED ON 7 MARCH

DASK (Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool), which operates to create earthquake awareness and awareness of living with earthquakes in the society, has been organising the "TCIP Earthquake Resistant Building Design Competition" since 2014 in order to contribute to the professional development of future civil engineers and architects who assume important roles in the design and production of earthquake resistant buildings and to emphasise the importance of earthquake engineering.

DASK Earthquake Resistant Building Design Competition has three main objectives;

- To provide students with the opportunity to work in earthquake-resistant high-rise building design and model construction stages,

- To introduce the earthquake engineering profession and to encourage students to specialise in this field,

- Raising awareness of earthquake and earthquake resistant buildings.

The first day of the four-day final stage is dedicated to opening speeches and preparatory work. On the second day, presentations and scoring of the building models will take place, while on the third day of the competition, the building models carefully prepared by the teams will be tested on the shaking table simulating the earthquake. On the fourth day, the excitement of the awards will be experienced.

In the competition organised with the concept of "Robust Buildings, Strong Tomorrows" this year, the models that pass the earthquake test without collapsing will also be evaluated according to economic scoring and aesthetic scoring criteria. The first prize in the competition will be awarded to the project that manages to be the team with the highest total annual gain as a result of the cost-benefit calculation. On 7 March Thursday, the winning teams will receive their awards at the ceremony. In addition, five special awards, namely Türk Reasürans Special Award, Best Architecture Special Award, Best Earthquake Performance Special Award, Best Communication Skills and Best Presentation Award, and Best Competition Spirit Award determined by the votes of the competition participants, will find their owners at the same ceremony.
