Insurance Association of Turkey Focuses on 'Disasters' at the 2nd International Insurance Summit

The Insurance Association of Turkey is devoting a special place to insurance, disaster awareness and consciousness during the Insurance Week. The 2nd International Insurance Summit, which will host important names of the insurance industry on September 25-26, will discuss the risks affecting the whole world, especially earthquakes.

The Insurance Association of Turkey (TSB), the guiding organization of the Turkish insurance industry, is bringing together important names and industry stakeholders from Turkey and around the world at the "2nd International Insurance Summit" to be organized during Insurance Week. "Disaster Risks and Insurance: The Role of Insurers in Mitigating the Impacts of Disasters", the international Summit aims to share best practices and best experiences that will help reduce catastrophic losses as well as exchange ideas.

Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the OECD, Beyhan Budak, Clinical Psychologist and Prof. Dr. Naci Görür will take part as speakers at the event to be held at Swissotel on September 25-26. At the 2nd International Insurance Summit, representatives from the insurance sectors of countries with recent disaster experience, such as Japan, New Zealand and Greece, will deliver a speech titled "The Role of Insurers: Insurers' Contribution and Lessons Learned in Mitigating the Impacts of Catastrophic Disasters" panel.

On the first day of the Summit, Serap Oğuz Gönülal, Former Chief Insurance Specialist at the World Bank, and Christian Pierotti, Director for Europe and International Relations, will participate in the panel discussion "Enhancing Financial Protection against Disaster Risks: The Role of Disaster Risk Insurance Programs: Public-Private Partnerships".
