Apple’s Ambitious Plans for Future Processors

According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on a mysterious new chip codenamed “Sorta,” alongside the M6 and M7 processors. These chips are internally referred to as “Komodo” for the M6 and “Borneo” for the M7. The “Sorta” chip, potentially the M8, remains shrouded in secrecy regarding its intended devices.

Performance Leap: Reports suggest that some of these processors in testing might boast 2 to 6 times more CPU and GPU cores compared to the current M3 Ultra, which features a 32-core CPU and 80-core GPU. The upcoming chips are projected to reach up to 192 GPU cores and 192 CPU cores, marking a significant leap in processing power.
